ABA-CE Series: All Aluminum Dome Head Closed End

These blind rivets are used when a weather-proof / leak-proof seal is needed. The closed end design prevents liquids, moisture, air, and other contaminants from moving through the riveted hole and/or the rivet itself.  As these rivets are all aluminum, the offer good natural corrosion resistance.  (For a rivet requiring higher performance demands, see the ABS-CE series.) These ABA-CE blind rivets are considered a light duty rivet that requires a fixed hole size. The body and mandrel are aluminum. The head has the standard dome shape. The body diameters are typically available in three sizes: 1/8”, 5/32”, and 3/16”.  The 3/32” and 1/4” diameters are available upon request with a higher minimum order quantity. These closed end blind rivets are offered in a variety of grip ranges that can be installed into material thicknesses including, but not limited to, .020”, .125”, .250”, .500”, .750, and 1.00”.

ABS-CE Series: Aluminum/Steel Dome Head Closed End

These blind rivets are used when a weather-proof/ leak-proof seal is needed. The closed end design prevents liquids, moisture, air, and other contaminants from entering the riveted hole and/or the rivet itself. These offer good mechanical performance while bringing the benefits of an aluminum body, but the steel phosphated mandrel may introduce some risk of rust. (To minimize rust risk, consider the all aluminum rivet ABA-CE series.) These are considered a light duty rivet that requires a fixed hole size. The rivet body is aluminum and the mandrel is steel phosphate. The head has the standard dome shape. These closed end blind rivets are offered in a variety of grip ranges that can be installed into material thicknesses including, but not limited to, .020”, .125”, .250”, .500”, .750, and 1 inch. The body diameters are typically available in three sizes: 1/8”, 5/32”, and 3/16”. 1/4” may be available upon request. Note, the 1/4” diameter rivets have a 1.250″ mandrel length minimum.

Grooved Rivets™

Grooved rivets are a light-duty blind rivet and are designed to be installed within a hole made of a fibered material such as wood and some low-to-medium density plastics. When set properly, the annular rings of the grooved rivet will bite into the wood or plastic and will radially expand within the hole. Keep in mind, this rivet is designed to expand within a hole and not at the rear side like most blind rivets. Only one fibered material is necessary as long as it is the final substrate. Other materials can be fastened to wood products as long as the other material is between the head and the wood. The rivet has an aluminum body with a steel, trivalent zinc plated mandrel.  The Grooved rivet is available in body diameter 1/8”, and material grip range .039 to .236. Also available in body diameter 5/32” and 3/16”, in multiple grip ranges.
